The Metropolitan Cathedral in early-evening light.

An intricate ornamental flower-bed adorns Plata Libertatii.
The National Theatre and Opera House is at the far end of the plaza.

III.

A plaque on the National Theatre and Opera House in Plata Libertatii commemorates where
crowds first gathered on 20 December 1989 to call for Ceausescu's overthrow. Romanian is
close enough to other Romance languages that, if you speak a little French or Spanish or Italian,
you can probably figure out the gist of the inscription.
